Address:Penza region, Nizhny Lomov district, the village of Golitsyno
One of the most interesting parks that have been preserved till present, is GolitsynoAboretum in Nizhny Lomov district.
The park can clearly be divided into two parts: the upper one, with exotic trees aged more than 100 years, and the lower one with the beuatiful systems of water bodies. The path in the upper level goes along the perimeter of the parterre. Its basis is the shady alley of Picea abies. One more alley of mixed larches, spruce and pine trees adjoins the main alley.
The second, lower part of the park is a system of water bodies. The ponds were created here more than 100 years ago. Two ponds on two terraces were connected by passages. If one comes down the upper terrace, the first thing that meets the eye is the striking emerald green pond surrounded by plants. Powerful springs emerge from many places near the artificially created ponds. As different from the upper level, native plants have all been preserved here.
