Address:Penza region, Penza district, village of Chardym

A mountain situated in the Penza region on the right bank of the Ardym river is a single cone-shaped hill with a splendid view of surroundings.

This nature attraction of Penza being located on a relatively small area shelters a rich flora. Some of the unique plant species growing on the hill are registered in the Red Book of the region. Meadow steppes where narrow-leaved feather grass predominates are spread out over the foot of the mountain. In spring, when blossoming, the foot of the hill presents a lovely sight: bright violet flowerbeds of steppe sage and stems of tall Lavatera thuringiaca disappear in abundance of field flowers. The air near Ardym mountain is saturated with thyme and sagebrush odour.
