Akhuny Tree Nursery

The nursery was established by the forester A.M. Milovanov in 1894. It is now a protected area of 16.8 ha. This is a unique park that is the result of the work of several generations of forestry specialists. It contains a striking variety of exotic plants that have successully adapted to new conditions,they have been growing and spreading.
Some tree species were introduced in the region more than 100 years ago. Among the North-American species the most valuable is the eastern white pine. The typical for Siberia and the Far East species that grow here are Siberian pine, Siberian larch, Manchurian walnut, Amur cork tree. Some specimens of these trees are extremely robust and highly decorative.
