Literary Museum of Penza Oblast

The Literary Museum is an association of litereary museums of the region. It was founded in 1975 and became the first association of this type. The museum is located in the two-storey building of the former secondary school for boys, the headmaster of this school in 1820s was a famous writer I.I. Lazhechnikov. The museum, that opened on its present location in 1989, offers exhibits connected with the life and works of writers and poets of the Penza region. It is also a venue for art exhibitions, musical eveninings and meetings with outstanding writers and poets of Penza.
