Nikolsk Glass and Crystal Museum

The unique industrial museum celebrates more than 250-year history of glass and lead crystal manufacture in the region. Starting from 1795, the collection of glass and lead crystal, created by the first owner and manager of the factory N. Bakhmetiev, has been growing rapidly. It included not only the wonderful glassware samples created at the factory, but the products of other glassmakers in Russia and Europe as the examples to copy. The collection allows to admire the skills and experience of generations of craftsmen at Nikolsk-Bahmetiev factory. 
The factory managed to survive through the hardships of wars and economic crises of the 20th c. It continued to manufacture the highly sought-after exquisite glassware. The ancient art of glass-blowing is still alive in the 21st century. The factory became the venue of professional symposia in 2006, 2009 and 2011.  The art-pieces created by the member of these symposia are now on display. Their fresh and modern approach differs greatly from the classic collections presented at the museum.
The current exhibition of the Nikolsk Glass and Crystal Museum includes more than 13,500 exhibits, each collection is unique in its beuaty, serves as a credit to the fashions of the period and shows unparalleled crafstmanship involved in their making.
