Address:Penza, Nekrasov street
The monument to a policeman is the first and the only one as yet in Russia to honour the services of an ordinary policeman. It was opened on November 10th, 2007, which is the professional holiday of Russia’s police force.
The monument is a bronze state of a Russian policeman of the second half of the 20th c. The monument’s prototype was an actual local policeman, famous for his tough but just character. The inscription on the semi-circular granite plinth runs ‘To Penza police force - guardians of law and order’.
The monument was created by the sculptor Aleksandr Khachaturyan and the architect Dmitry Dimakov.
